Talisker's famous 10 year old whiskey has to be one of the most popular single malt whiskeys around. A subtle aging regime highlights the unique character of the Isle of Skye distillery. There's a dose of sherry added here, derived from secondary maturation in amoroso-seasoned American oak barrels and, yes, you guessed it, heavily charred American oak ends. In case you didn't know, amoroso is a medium sweet style, kind of like cream sherry.

Aroma: Salty sea spray, campfire and raisin-like sweetness.

Palate: Rich peat flavor, backed by sticky dates, peppery spice and a touch of salt.

Finish: Dry oak and lingering smoke.
