Diageo has released a special 2023 Mortlach expression, 'The Katana's Edge', a Speyside Scotch whiskey finished in Kanosuke Japanese Whiskey and Pinot Noir casks. Bottled at 58% ABV, the wine’s attractive barrel profile complements a blend of sweet and savory flavors.

Aroma: Very elegant tropical fruit notes contrasting with earthy notes of cured meats, cloves, red pepper and black pepper.

Palate: pear drops, toffee pudding, orange zest, marzipan and lots of soy sauce-flavored umami.

Finish: rich and mellow, with notes of honey and pepper.
