Bruichladdich Octomore 13.2 Islay Single Malt Scotch Whiskey. 5 Year Old Limited Release 2016 Heavy Peated Islay Malt Whiskey distilled from Concerto Scotland grown barley. Mature first-fill Oloroso sherry barrels come from Fernando de Castilla, Spain.

Aroma: Highly aromatic, this wine opens with nutty, salty smoke, milk chocolate, and leathery tobacco. Oloroso oak barrels give this whiskey rich flavors of syrupy orange and grapefruit citrus, along with hints of clove and cinnamon and walnuts and praline. As it opens further, brown sugar, raisins, dried apples, melon and ripe pears begin to appear, intertwining beautifully with the soft peat smoke.

Mouthfeel: Great mouth-feeling consistency and presence. Hints of smoky nuts and leather, warm orange marmalade on fresh scones. Dried apricots and a hint of peppery spice finish.

Finish: Peat smoke as the fruity and nutty aromas of the oloroso oak gradually surface over time. The saltiness of the sea breeze creates a lively flavor combination.
