Nick Savage, Macallan’s chief distiller, said that EDITION NO.4 was inspired by the architectural structure of Macallan’s new distillery, revealing the role that each oak barrel plays in the whiskey structure. European sherry oak barrels from Tevasa provide a solid and rich base for EDITION NO.4, a source of rich dry fruit notes, and provide unique flavors of woody spices and ginger; while Rogers Stirk Harbor + Partners designed a fusion spey for the new distillery. The beautiful appearance of the local natural scenery, EDITION NO.4 is shaped by the flavors of dried fruits, dates and figs brought by European sherry oak barrels from Jose y Miguel Martin and Diego Martin Rosado; American snow from Vasyma Like the steel beams in the new distillery, the oak barrels support the structure of the building, adding depth and breadth to EDITION NO.4, imparting vanilla, toffee and butterscotch flavors while balancing the structure of the whiskey; and just like the structure of the building The most critical capstone, EDITION NO.4 uses refilled sherry oak barrels from Tevasa, which adds the bright and vivid personality of citrus fruits to the whiskey and also makes the overall structure complete.
