The sixth and final release in the Macallan Edition series, Edition 6 is inspired by the legendary River Spey and the natural wonders of The Macallan Estate, where each barrel of The Macallan is hand-selected before maturation Supplied by our expert whiskey makers.

Macallan whiskey maker Steven Bremner hand-selected all five different cask types used to create Edition 6. He draws inspiration from the unique stories associated with the river and surrounding landscape. American and European oak barrels were selected to create a flavor profile that results in a multi-faceted experience. From the attractive rich brassy natural color to the aroma, coupled with a deep and evocative flavor.

The legendary River Spey flows through the estate and is world-famous for its mighty Atlantic salmon. Macallan Ghillie is the custodian of the River Spey and advocates for the maintenance of wildlife in and around the river. On our three-quarter-mile stretch of river, lucky souls can test their skills on Hardee's unparalleled tackle in the hope of catching and releasing wild Atlantic salmon.

Wild Atlantic salmon are in danger of becoming an endangered species. That’s why The Macallan has partnered with the Atlantic Salmon Trust to help raise awareness and support vital conservation work in the River Spey and beyond.
